1. Approve the pricing before publishing
Open the hosted quote builder and choose Configure workshop rates. Enter your workshop name and supplier email, then check each style’s rate per square foot. Review the finish multiplier, per-piece fee and whole-order minimum for every finish. The starting values are illustrative demo prices.
The available styles are Slab, Shaker and Slim shaker; finishes are Unfinished, Primed and Painted. Use this setup only where those categories and the pricing formula fit your products. Choosing a currency changes the displayed label; it does not convert your rates. Read how cabinet door pricing adds up before comparing the result with your rate sheet.
Set estimate terms that explain what your workshop must confirm. Shipping, tax, hinge options and manufacturing restrictions are not calculated. Keep a separate review process for measurements, materials, availability and the final order.
2. Save settings, then download the widget
Click Save workshop settings. Test a known door list against a quote you have calculated independently, including an order below the minimum. Reopen the settings panel and choose Download customer widget. The download uses your saved settings; unsaved edits in the form are not included.
Generate the widget on the hosted HTTPS website. A local offline copy can calculate and export quotes, but cannot build this customer download. Use Export saved settings to keep a separate configuration backup or transfer it to another browser.
One HTML file contains the calculator, its styles and your saved prices. Customer mode hides the workshop rate controls. A first visit starts with an empty measurement list; returning visitors may see their browser’s saved list. Rates are included in client-side code and still require supplier approval before an order is accepted.
3. Upload the configured HTML file
Upload the downloaded file to your workshop’s website using your hosting file manager or ask your website installer to do it. Keep the filename or record the new one. Open its full HTTPS address directly and check that it displays your workshop name, approved prices and supplier email.
The widget is self-contained, so you do not need to upload the DoorQuoteKit source scripts beside it. It is marked noindex: use a normal workshop page with useful product information around the calculator as the public destination.
4. Add it to your workshop page
Put this example in the page’s HTML or embed area, replacing the example address with the actual URL of your uploaded file. The file may have a different name based on your workshop name.
<iframe
src="https://your-workshop.example/demo-workshop-door-quote-widget.html"
title="Cabinet door estimate"
style="width:100%;height:1000px;border:0"
loading="lazy">
</iframe>The title labels the embedded tool for assistive technology. MDN explains these attributes in its iframe reference. Your website editor must allow iframe HTML; if it removes the code, ask your installer which supported embed method to use.
The example height is a starting point. The widget does not automatically resize its parent iframe. Check a phone and desktop, adjust the height and make sure customers can scroll to the estimate and export controls. A nearby link to open the uploaded widget on its own page offers another way to use it.
5. Test the customer handoff
- Open a fresh browser session and confirm the customer list starts empty and rate-setting controls are hidden.
- Add a finished door size, change quantity, style and finish, and compare the estimate with your approved calculation.
- Try spreadsheet import, Export CSV and Print / PDF, including inside the embedded page.
- Choose Prepare supplier email. Check the draft’s destination and item list, then send it yourself if required.
- Confirm that customers can reach every control on a small screen and see your estimate terms.
Email preparation opens the visitor’s email app; it does not send the request automatically. The widget takes no payment and does not confirm a production order. Link to the replacement door measurement guide so customers understand which sizes to enter.
6. Replace the file when rates change
Update and save the workshop settings, download a new customer widget and replace the hosted file. An existing download does not receive later price changes automatically. Recheck the live embedded version after uploading, and keep a dated copy of the approved configuration.
If you want help with configuration and installation, review the workshop setup service and send your rate sheet and website details. Scope and delivery are agreed before payment.
